Oleksandr Romanko - INFORMS Interactive Presentation Award
Awards in 2011
Oleksandr Romanko has been awarded the the INFORMS Interactive Presentation Award, 3rd Place. The award was presented at the 2011 INFORMS Annual Meeting, November 13-16, 2011 in Charlotte, NC.

The award was for Oleksandr's poster presentation "Multiobjective Robust Optimization in Finance and Risk Management" (joint work with Helmut Mausser and Tamas Terlaky) at the INFORMS interactive presentation session, a conference-wide event featuring around 40 posters.

Oleksandr Romanko - MITACS Elevate Post-Doctoral Fellowship
Awards in 2010
Oleksandr Romanko has been awarded a MITACS Elevate Post-Doctoral Fellowship to be held at McMaster University and Algorithmics Inc. He is among six researchers at McMaster who received funding through the Government of Canada's new Elevate program with MITACS Inc. Oleksandr works along with Antoine Deza at McMaster and Quantitative Research Group at Algorithmics Inc. on projects related to optimization in finance and risk management. Oleksandr Romanko was profiled in The Hamilton Spectator article on July 31, 2010. The postdoctoral program is highlighted at McMaster daily news, Faculty of Engineering and the Department of Computing and Software.
 
Yang Li - CORS Student Paper Competition
Awards in 2010
Yang Li got an Honorable Mention for the Canadian Operations Research Society (CORS) Best Student Paper Competition for the paper "A New Class of Large Neighborhood Path-Following Interior Point Algorithms for Semidefinite Optimization with $O(\sqrt{n} \log{\frac{{\rm Tr}(X^0S^0)}{\epsilon}})$ Iteration Complexity".
